In an effort to express our support for all of the Libyan students at the University of Colorado Denver (UCD) who are impacted by the current events in Libya, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) is hosting what we are calling a Libyan Student Support Forum on Monday, February 28, 2011, from 12-2pm, in the Terrace on the 2^nd floor of the Lawrence Street Center. You and your family members are invited to attend. Lunch will be provided from Kabsa Middle East Restaurant.

We will use this time to provide you with important information about UCD and community resources that are available to you, as well as to share with you some important information to help you manage your immigration status in the US during this difficult time. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns, and otherwise to engage with us regarding how we may be able to be of further assistance to you. In addition, there will be an opportunity for you and other Libyan students to talk in small groups at tables.

You may begin arriving around 11:30am, and the program will begin around 12pm with some brief remarks from Dr. Carolyn North, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Affairs and other OIA staff, as well as some other senior leaders throughout UCD. We are also inviting Associate Deans from the UCD Schools/Colleges with the largest concentrations of Libyan students (Engineering, Education, Architecture, and Business).

Please let us know of your plans, including the number of family members who will accompany you. This will help us plan and ensure we have enough food for everyone.
